During last month’s IPC APEX EXPO in San Diego, Circuits Assembly and Printed Circuit Design and Fab magazines announced the winners of their prestigious 2018 New Product Introduction Awards for electronics assembly equipment, materials, software and PCB fabrication. We took the prize for ink jet printers with our additive manufacturing printer for professional electronics, the DragonFly 2020 Pro 3D Printer.
Our DragonFly 2020 Pro is our one-stop solution for 3D-printed electronics. Designers can move quickly from concept verification and design validation, to test fixtures by 3D printing their own professional circuit boards. The DragonFly’s unique properties allow for the printing of high resolution traces and spaces with the precise inkjet deposition system. It also allows for the building of multilayer PCB features- including interconnections such as buried vias and plated through holes.
With the DragonFly Pro, companies can keep their sensitive and proprietary design information in-house while developing and testing their designs for professional multilayer PCB prototypes, antennas, experimental electronic circuits and more.
The NPI Awards program began in 2008, and each year celebrates product excellence in a variety of electronics categories. The publications work with a panel of distinguished industry luminaries who select the industry’s top creative advancements in technology products for the year.
“As the entries to this year’s NPI Awards demonstrate, there is a real move toward faster throughput right now,” said Mike Buetow, editor-in-chief of CIRCUITS ASSEMBLY and PCD&F. “This was noted by the judges, who were impressed with the trend to increase speed in the same machine footprint.”
The NPI Award joins Nano Dimension’s growing list of accolades. Last November, the DragonFly 2020 Pro 3D Printer earned the top prize in the PCB & EMS category at productronica. Every two years, productronica presents the productronica innovation award to the most innovative product developments and manufacturing techniques of the electronics-manufacturing industry.
