Should you 3D print an Arduino prototype in house, or should you outsource it? That’s the question developers face. Since Arduino is an open-source hardware, with some simple code, you can quickly develop new concepts for electronic products. However, development of customized Arduino prototypes in different sizes and shapes may involve some design mistakes that require multiple iterations.

It is with these issues in mind that companies involved in electronics manufacturing and design have begun to embrace the use of 3D printed electronics for creating functional Printed Circuit Board (PCB) prototypes. Additive manufacturing is an excellent method for producing complex electronic designs as it requires no set-up, drilling, pressing, plating, nor outsourcing.

Check out the video below showing a 3D printed functional Arduino 2-layer PCB operating an OLED display, a testament to the magic of 3D printing and rapid prototyping capability of the DragonFly Pro 3D Printer.
