Nano Dimension Amazes Visitors at electronica & formnext 2018 with Innovative Applications

After a busy week at electronica in Munich and formnext in Frankfurt from 13-16th November, we are delighted to say that both were amazing shows, no less because of the excitement shown by the hundreds of international visitors who packed our booths each day.

Over the five days of showcasing transformative electronics applications, we kept the buzz around our booths high with a range of electronics applications 3D printed on the DragonFly Pro platform, such as IoT touch and environmental sensors, molded interconnect devices, non-planar circuitry and multi-layered Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs).

Also on display were several interesting case studies on how companies utilize Nano Dimension’s DragonFly Pro system for rapid prototyping. One of the highlights, marking an exciting milestone for 3D printed electronics, was the test results of a radio frequency (RF) amplifier 3D printed for American technology company Harris Corp. – the electronic components printed on the DragonFly Pro demonstrated performance comparable to those of a traditionally manufactured RF circuit.

What makes these applications possible is Nano Dimension’s unique DragonFly Pro system for multidimensional printed electronics, which enables designers and engineers to 3D-print metal and polymer simultaneously to deliver in-house prototyping of functional electronics.

Here’s a quick recap of our displays:

ND Steering Wheel FINALConcept steering wheel by Techniplas, with conductive wiring printed 3D directly into it using Nano Dimension’s DragonFly Pro system.

At formnext, Techniplas showcased a concept automobile steering wheel with intelligent lighting – the result of a partnership between Techniplas and Nano Dimension. Using the DragonFly Pro system, Techniplas engineers were able to print the conductive wiring directly into the steering wheel. This both validates our ability to solve challenges in the automotive industry and demonstrates what we can achieve with industry partnerships.

All in all, electronica and formnext were both successful shows where we were able to show many applications of additive manufacturing for electronics and demonstrate how the DragonFly Pro is helping our customers stay competitive. Thank you to all who attended and helped make these events such a huge success.
